The New Education Policy of India lays emphasis on imparting education in mother tongue or local language in primary classes. The ongoing experiments of adopting tribal language as a medium of instruction in Odisha and Assam is a step towards eliminating language block in learning. According to Google’s 2020 report on India, more than 84% of online video viewers prefer non-English content, which indicates an increasing demand for content in the local language. Ed-tech platforms who are purveying to the interests of multilingual people must design their content in vernacular.
