Our Community
On the ground in Bihar, we are aided by JEEViKA, a World Bank aided network of 10 million women from low income communities. They spread awareness and reach out to students on our behalf.
Our internal team has over 350 volunteers. The core consists of volunteers from leading global companies, such as Bain and Microsoft, and leading universities, who guide our strategic vision. We also have our volunteer teachers who help us develop educational content. Finally, our technology volunteers come from organizations such as Amazon and Microsoft, as well as from hackathons that we participate in. Collectively, over 900 development hours have gone into creating our app, educational chatbots, text-to-speech readers, and so much more.

Some of Our Tech Projects
AI Chatbot
To further enrich the educational experience, our pilot program addresses the need for a dynamic learning process — questions, discovery, and affirmation. We’re implementing an AI-driven Chatbot that will be able to assess students' learning progress through quizzes and resolve their doubts as a digital assistant in their educational journey. |
AR/VR STEM Lab
Through a partnership with Carnegie Mellon University, Turn The Bus’ new pilot will create a digitally-accessible STEM lab where students can engage with the material beyond static videos. Moreover, these labs will provide students with technical exposure and skills needed for future careers in STEM. |
What Our Students Say
“I live 60 km away from town where we get the material to prepare for board exams, but it became difficult to commute during lockdown. Then I came across the Jeevika- Turn the Bus group which provided me with the material related to the curriculum with practice questions and answers. This helped clear my confusion and I could pass in 1st division” - Manish Kumar, Class 12, Bethia

Frequently Asked Questions
“How is Turn The Bus’s program different from currently accessible digital content?”
While there is great material online, it is often inaccessible in rural India because of a complex web of language and access barriers. Turn the Bus steps in to localize and tailor this information in order to open up educational opportunities that would otherwise be inaccessible. We are committed to ensuring educational growth for the entirety of India’s diverse population.
