On 24 January 2022, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) celebrated the fourth International Day of Education under the theme “Changing Course, Transforming Education”. The theme was focused on the need to nurture transformations to allow access to education for all and help build sustainable futures.

Turn the Bus has partnered with Jeevika to provide quality education to high school students in Bihar through digital media. Our motive, “leveraging smartphones in India to transform education” is completely aligned with the theme.
According to a UN report, 258 million children and youth still do not attend school; 617 million children and adolescents cannot read and do basic math; and some four million children and youth refugees are out of school. These children are deprived of their right to education. It is our choice ‘to continue on this unsustainable path or change course before it is too late’.
